Dr. Irving Raphael
Dr. Irving Raphael is the Director of Sports Medicine and Head Team Physician for Syracuse University. In addition, he is the Team Physician for Cazenovia College. He is an Orthopaedic consultant to the NCAA, NBA, NFL, and PGA.
Dr. Raphael specializes in arthroscopic and ligament reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, hip knee, and ankle.
Dr. Raphael is a graduate of Yale University School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic residency at Upstate Medical School, where he is now a clinical assistant professor of orthopaedics. Dr. Raphael frequently lectures on sports medicine and student athlete related issues. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the International Arthroscopy Association, and is a board certified in orthopaedic surgery.

Dr. Bradley Raphael
Dr. Bradley Raphael is the Assistant Team Physician for Syracuse University. He specializes in arthroscopic and ligament reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle.
Dr. Raphael is a graduate of Yale University School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedc residency at Hospital for Special Surgery at Cornell-Weill Medical School in New York City. His cutting-edge training also includes a sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. Dr. Raphael has extensive experience out in the field working in tandem with the team doctors for the Los Angeles Lakers, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the University of Southern California.
With over 10 years of medical training, Dr. Raphael is bringing the most innovative care and state-of-the-art treatments back to his hometown of Syracuse.

Dr. Wayne Eckhardt
Dr. Wayne Eckhardt specializes in all non-operative musculoskelatal pathologies including sports medicine injuries and acute injuries. He has particular interest in foot and ankle problems and medical consulting. Dr. Eckhardt serves as assistant team physician for Syracuse University. He is a graduate of and completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Upstate Medical School in Syracuse.
Deborah Pflugh, R.N., N.P.
Deborah Pflugh brings over twenty years of experience to RSM Medical Associates. She is a certified First Assistant to Dr. Irving Raphael, attending closely to his patients in the office and operating room. She also provides medical coverage for the Syracuse University Women’s Lacrosse team and at clinics for all of the University’s athletes.
Deborah Pflugh is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center School of Nursing and she received her certification as a Nurse Practitioner at SUNY Health Science Center, both in Syrcause. She is certified member of the American Nurses’ Association and an active member in the Syracuse chapter of the Nurse Practitioner Association.
Brandon Weaver, RPA-C
Brandon Weaver, RPA-C, has over 12 years of experience as a physician assistant with extensive experience in treating various orthopedic issues in both acute and non-acute settings. He assists the Orthopedic Team at RSM Medical Associates with daily clinical care.
Brandon is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physician Assistant. He is a clinical preceptor for Rochester Institute of Technology providing instruction in patient care, treatment and mentoring to Physician Assistant students. Brandon is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Dr. Renée S. Melfi
Renée S. Melfi, M.D. graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine and went on to complete her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine. She received even more specialized training with Musculoskeletal Medicine and Interventional Spine and Advanced Interventional Spine fellowships at Louisiana State University.
Dr. Melfi was trained by one of the most renowned spinal interventionalists in the world, Dr. Charles Aprill. With more than 15 years of training and experience, she’s so respected in her field that she was the first female instructor for the North American Spine Society Spinal Injection Courses, where she teaches other physicians how to do injections. Dr. Melfi is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, and Integrative Holistic Medicine.
Dr. Melfi specializes in musculoskeletal medicine and non-operative spine procedures, but what really sets her apart is her emphasis on mind-body wellness. She offers patients the tools they need to take charge of their health; focusing on long-term solutions by incorporating complementary treatments such as acupuncture, exercise, diet, and more into her practice. Dr. Farah N. Siddiqui
Farah N. Siddiqui, M.D. is a graduate from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She went on to complete her residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. Following residency she successfully completed a fellowship in Interventional Spine at Champlain Spine and Pain Management in Plattsburgh, New York. Dr. Siddiqui is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a member of several medical societies including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the International Spine Intervention Society, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Siddiqui is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of musculoskeletal pain including neck and back pain, peripheral neuropathy, headaches, myofascial pain, pelvic pain and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). She is also trained in electrodiagnostic testing (EMG and Nerve Conduction Studies) used in diagnosing conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and peripheral neuropathy. Dr. Siddiqui offers an array of non-operative procedures for pain caused by disc herniations, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, peripheral neuropathies, as well as back and joint arthritis.
Amy Gemelli, RPA-C
Amy Gemelli joined RSM Medical Associates in 2004 and has over 12 years of experience in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) and Orthopaedics. She assists Dr. Melfi with daily clinical care in PMR.
Amy is graduate of SUNY Cortland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a graduate of Touro College, Long Island, NY with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Physician Assistants. She was awarded Academic Achievement and Clinical Achievement from Touro College. Amy is nationally certified through the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Dr. Adrianne O’Quinn
Dr. Adrianne O’Quinn is a fellowship trained physiatrist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of spine and musculoskeletal pain. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and will soon be setting for her boards in Pain Medicine.
Dr. O’Quinn is a Central NY native who received all of her medical education at SUNY Upstate. She is skilled in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Spinal Diagnostics and Interventions, Musculoskeletal Medicine and Electrodiagnostics.
